IBM Supercomputers have beaten the greatest chess players on Earth, once in a while.

Now, they've built one to conquer JEOPARDY!

Named WATSON, after the Sherlock Holmes' character, this computer can read text and give answers in lightning speed. This computer is going to play against the two best JEOPARDY contestants ever, tonight! What do you think? Is this either: cool, awesome, scary, terrifying, weird or shocking? Why?

I think it is slightly weird having a computer that can talk and I do agree if the computer wins it means we can do so much more on computers than we have in the past it is also amazing how much work went into the computer and kind of freaky because the voice that robot has kinda gives me the creeps.

I think its kind of scary and amazing at the same time because its incredible how man can create such a amazing mechian but it is scary how if it sliped into the wrong hands or goes haywire it could maybe be the end of the western hemisphire.

I have to say that the WATSON machine is very cool, because it is a machine that can intake information, process an answer, and clearly formulate a reply without the a reply all without the constant aid of the internet.

I think it is naive to believe that someone is actually going to steal something the size of 10 refrigerators and reprogram it to do their bidding, all without the notice of anyone. I would also say that people who believe that the owners of WATSON are going to steal it have been watching too many movies.

But it is shocking how IBM scientists have been working overtime making a machine that can win a Jeopardy game.

There is just on problem.

WHAT NOW????

WATSON uses immensely sophisticated technology, I think that at this time, with our technology right now, it would be impossible to create a better supercomputer.

I think it is weird to go against a super computer and quite scary. I think it's also cool to see what we humans can create now. What's going to happen in the future?

I think it is weird that a human made a computer that is smarter than some hummans. But it is very cool to have a computer that is so smart.

I think Watson is so cool. It's a little weird though. At the end of the day, it's all information that people have put into this system so it's just something that people can do.

I think it's really wired how that computer is so fast. I think it's amazing how technology has grown and i also think its pretty cool how they've made computers that are smarter than some of the smartest people. People should make computers do all the work. =P

I think its kinda werid how they have now made technology that can beat the human mind at thigns. BUt its also amazing of what people can do with technology

I think it is really cool how Watson can answer in lightning speed and I am amazed at how big this computer is and how you can see Watson getting aggitated when he misses or answers a question. I saw the program on Monday and they showed how big the Watson computer is, it is huge. It is trying to be like the human brain but to be as fast as the human brain it has to be one of the biggest computers in the world. Mr.Erdosy you got something wrong because Watson is not named after the Watson from Sherlock Holmes instead he is named after Thomas Watson, the founder of IBM. My Mum used to work at IBM and she told me this.

I saw the episode of Jeopardy, when Watson was on, and I think that he is very smart. He got mostly everything he answered rite, and think that it is a smart idea to use computers for other things that the world may struggle with I think it is very amazing that a computer can do so much and know so much to.

I think that Watson is the first step to robots. I think that in a few years everyone will have a Watson in there house to help them with their homework or work or everything that they need to know. The Watson is kind of scary but i think that it is kind of unfair to put Watson up against people because it is way better and can remember much much more. Overall the Watson is really cool and technology like the Watson is just going to get better and better!

I think it is all of those words because its pretty awsome but i think its terrifying cus if they can buid that then they could build something that can take over the world!!! (knock on wood)
