SCIENCE!

The jungles of Earth are sometimes so thick and remote that explorers have not penetrated into the deepest, darkest reaches of them.  Within the inner-most areas of these isolated and dense jungles, tribes of humans live as they have for thousands of years, having never been contacted by the outside world!

There are a few dozen tribes of people who have never been contacted by the outside world.  They are documented using airplanes, the locations of their villages are mapped and the forests around them are deemed "off limits" to logging and hunting to preserve the people's way of life.

A previously unknown tribe in the rain forests of Western Brazil has been photographed using an airplane for the first time.  Logging companies are already too-close for comfort to the tribe's villages.

Should this tribe be contacted or left alone?

Read this article.  At the end of each short section of paragraphs, click on the 'next' button to take you through the slide-show of pictures and explaining text.  In some of the photos, you can see the villagers pointing at the plane with looks of curiosity on their faces.

I think those people should be left alone because contact will probably ruin the rest of their lives. They are using natural resources to live their life. They are not using gas or electricity to power anything like houses or cars and so on. Also, they don't use money so they don't use paper. Deforestation will destroy animal's habitats and our habitat because of all the chemicals released by the machines. It reminds me of the Alberta, Canada deforestation.

I agree with Jaden because if they aren't using any electricity or gas powered things, then they are not doing any harm to our habitat. They are living off nature, not man made things that do harm to our world. Plus, if they get forced to live in our society, they wouldn't be street smart at all and they would get chewed up because they wouldn't know what was going on and they might not fit in with us or like being in a situation that is so new to them. By taking away their homes and interfering with the environment that they live in and that they are used too, we are practically taking away their lives and the lives of many wildlife and tribes that are living around them.

I think that we should leave there tribe alone because they are doing nothing to harm us so we have no reason to trouble them. They obviously don't want to make contact with the rest of the world so they rely on different things than us we use electricity they don't we use cars which pollute they don't. They are one of the few tribes still left untouched by the modern society so I think we should not act upon it and just be more aware that by cutting down trees we will affect there forest that they live in and it could eventually mean the lives of all the people in their tribe just because the modern society needs trees to survive.

I agree with both kai and jaden because they are not causing harm to any one. In fact I think people should try doing some of the method's because peak oil is coming up soon and we have got to in brace some of ways in living without oil.

I think that tribe should be left alone because it will ruin they culture and also it will pollute the environment because of all the devices they will make and use which will let out bad chemicals into the air. It will also kill animals in the process of making it a contacted place. They have lived with out electricity for so long and they have there ways of doing stuff so if they get introduced to all that technology they will be lost and very confused. Also then they might have to get jobs and then they will have to pay for education, but they would have never used money before or known what it is so they will be ruined. That's my Reason about why we should leave them alone.

I think they should be left alone because when all the trees are cut down in their area they will have to get jobs, get an education and have to learn how to use moneny. Also, they will be shocked when they find out the technolgy we have and use.

I think that this tribe should be left alone because they seem very happy with their situation and like they said, they are not obese and their not skinny. Plus i think that if they didn't like their situation, they would have tried to relocate again!

I think that the tribe should be left alone. It is a problem with the developed world that we believe everyone will like our ideas. We are not showing respect or care to the tribe by destroying their home. Like on the website, these people are not any more or less developed than we are. They just simply don' t need the electricity and coal that we do. When you see them staring at amazement at the planes, it is not stupidity that is in their eyes. They are just being shown another outlook at things, a different kind of technology. It is lie them coming to major cities and destroying them. If we are not careful, there could be conflict between them and us. Then there would be no hope of them learning about us, and us, them. To them, those trees are their right. We, with our computers and aeroplanes and all sorts of technologies, are we really going to deny people their right for land? I think that whoever is disturbing these people should be in serious trouble with the law.

I think they should be left alone if they are happy there because going into cities filled with a ton of people then they will like be cursed forever, well maybe not forever but for a long time. So they probably feel comfortable right where they are and I am happy for them because they can be alone from everyone and enjoy there lives as long as they live, unless they decide to make contact with the outside world which is totally fine if they want to.

I would defiantly let them be. I would do that because if they wanted to be disturbed then they probably would of come out of there tribe and gone to the outside of the forest and into civilization.
The people i these tribes probably do not want to be disturbed but they are also curious.

Also they are not using any fossil fuels or that kind of stuff so since we are already near peak oil and the earth is practically going to break if we don't change the way we treat the environment, we should let them be and not make them have to worry and also it is better they stay living like that.

For the life of these people it is very slim because if we leave them alone there are a lot of loggers are chopping down there their land where they live and if we contact them they might fight back or they would be know to the world and people would want to come and see how they lived... documenting it and having tons of cameras and journalists come to there land. Also if we were to contact them we would be able to move them off their land and have it chopped down and collect all the oil and since they aren't used to the human world we could get them off there land for a very very very cheap price. I don't get why everyone is talking about pollution but I guess it is because they aren't in that area. The solution is to stop logging immediately and let these tribe live a life were they don't suffer the fact that we are so polluted in some parts of the world that we can't have a blue sky. If they are kicked out of there land I will be sorry but not surprised.
